Kiwanis Honors Cloverly Students

Florence Liu and Donna Chen

December 5, 2006

Kiwanis Club of Temple City was pleased to have honored two outstanding students from Cloverly Elementary School at their meeting on December 5, 2006.  Pictured with the proud students is Cloverly teacher, Mr. Richard Wenzel.

Florence is 11 years old and is in Mrs. Stokes’s 6th grade class. Florence has a younger brother and  enjoys reading, and playing the piano and violin. Florence said, “the best things about school are the fabulous teachers, every year the school helps the poor with a charity drive, and the Principal, Mr. Walters who cares about all the students.”  The best thing that ever happened was when my cousin Rose finally came to Los Angeles. Florence has goals of building a magical bike, finish her homework before 5 p.m., try even harder in academic studies, and improve on her worst subject.

Donna is 11 years old and is in Mr. Lee’s 6th grade class. Donna has two younger sisters and  enjoys reading, drawing, and dancing. Donna said, “the best things about school are the great staff, curriculum, and all the students.”  The best thing that ever happened was when she got her puppy.  Donna said, “if I could change  one thing it would be that the world did not have bad things, like bullies, bad language, and war.” Donna has goals of building a giant house, to read more, workout more, and have more patience.
