Kiwanis Honors Emperor Students Emily Whitman, Kathleen Chen, Jorge Cruz November 14, 2006
Kiwanis Club of Temple City was pleased to have honored three outstanding students from Emperor Elementary School at their meeting on November 14, 2006. Pictured with the proud students is Emperor teacher, Miss Mary Ann Parille. Emily is 11 years old and in Ms. Carlson’s class. Emily enjoys jewelry making and other crafts. Emily said, “the best things about school are the fantastic Principal, wonderful teachers, and good friends.” The best thing that ever happened to Emily was her first day of Kindergarten when she met one of her best friends. Emily has goals of keeping up her grades, going to UCLA, and starting her own jewelry business. Kathleen is 11 years old and in Mr. Giangregorio’s class. Kathleen has an older sister and enjoys basketball, violin, Spanish, and art classes. Kathleen said, “the best things about school are my wonderful, awesome, stupendous, top-notch teacher Mr. G!, my great friends, and learning about math, writing, and history.” The best thing that ever happened was when she finally got her miniature schnauzer named Buddy. Personal goals Kathleen is striving for are to stop noxious gases, build a structure of trust and happiness, get straight A’s, passing the certificate of merit for violin, and have a happy and successful life. Jorge is 11 years old and in Miss Parille’s class. Jorge has an older sister and enjoys bowling, baseball, collecting cards, basketball, and drawing. Jorge said, “the best things about school are the good teachers, school spirit, and the great Principal.” The best thing that ever happened was coming to Emperor. Personal goals Jorge is striving for are to have no more wars, get a good education, get a diploma, and to get a full scholarship to a college. |
