 Longden

Kiwanis Club of Temple City was pleased to have honored three outstanding students from Longden Elementary School at their meeting on May 23, 2006.  Pictured with the proud students is Longden Vice Principal Mrs. Trang Lai.

Allen is 11 years old and is in Mr. Shahoian’s class.  He has an older sister and enjoys playing soccer, drawing, volleyball, and reading. Allen said, “The best things about school are the field trips, the large library, and the interesting assemblies.”  The best thing that ever happened to Allen was when he got his first train set.  Allen would like to design and build a house, go to a good college, be an interior designer, and become an architect.

Gregory is 12 years old and is in Ms. Jennings’ class.  Gregory has two older brothers and enjoys punk music, drawing, swimming, and soccer.  Gregory said, “The best things about school are lunch, science, and P.E.”  The best thing that ever happened to Gregory was when he went surfing the first time.  If he could change one thing, it would be that his dog did not shed as much. Goals are to build a theme park, be on the Honor Roll, get a pet penguin, and a laptop computer. In March, Gregory cut his long hair and donated it to cancer patients.

Jennifer is 12 years old and is in Mrs. Castro’s class.  Jennifer has an older sister and a 4 month old sister.  She enjoys playing the guitar, drums, riding her skateboard, and playing hockey. Jennifer said, “The best things about school are the great teachers, the nice supervision aides, and the wonderful atmosphere.”  The best thing that ever happened to Jennifer was when she got her electric guitar.  Jennifer said, “If I could change one thing, it would be that my parents were together again.”  Goals are to build a castle for her family, get A’s in her classes, being mature and respectful, going to UCLA and becoming a doctor.
