Kiwanis Honors Community Learning Center Kiwanis Club of Temple City was pleased to have honored two outstanding students from the Community Learning Center at their meeting on May 16, 2006. Pictured with the proud students is teacher, Mr. Reggie Rios and school counselor, Mr. Raul Acevedo. Both students are in Mr. Rios’ and Mr. Bridges’ classes. Lorian is 17 years old and has three older brothers and sisters. Lorian enjoys basketball, baseball, and dancing. Lorian said, “the best things about school are the wonderful teachers, students, and all the good things I learn.” Lorian has goals of building a home for people who do not have a place to live, get married and have children, get a diploma and make her family happy, go to college and get a good job. Leland is 18 years old, has a younger brother, and enjoys hanging out with his friends, learning new and interesting things that he can use in life. Leland said, “the best things about school are it provides a safe learning environment, there are less people in a class so it is easier to learn, everyone respects and treats each other fairly.” Personal goals Leland is striving for is to graduate from High School, to help his family with paying the bills, and to be able to find what he wants to be in life. |
