Kiwanis Club of Temple City was pleased to have honored three outstanding students from the Community Learning Center at their meeting on May 15, 2007.  Pictured with the proud students are CLC teachers Mr. Andrew Jahan and Raul Acevedo.

Amber is 14 years old, has two older brothers and enjoys soccer, boxing, running, music, dancing and being with her friends.  Amber said, “The best things about school are the teachers, students, and meeting new friends.”  Amber has goals of building a big theme park, going really far in soccer, attending college, and getting a good job.

Jennifer is 16 years old, has a younger brother and enjoys going to the gym and listening to music.  Jennifer said, “The best things about school are my friends, getting out early, and working at my own pace.”  The best thing that ever happened was when her little brother was born.  Personal goals are to build a car, graduate from high school, go to college, and have a career.  If Jennifer could change one thing it would be to go back in time and get good grades.

Paul is 14 years old, has four brothers and sisters and enjoys baseball, riding bikes, air soft, drawing, and hanging out with his friends. Paul said, “The best things about school are coming to the CLC at 11 years old, being with my friends, getting straight to work at school, and being chosen Student of the Month. Personal goals are to graduate from TCHS, go to USC to play baseball, and become a professional baseball player.
