Kiwanis Honors Emperor Students Kiwanis Club of Temple City was pleased to have honored three outstanding students from Emperor Elementary School at their meeting on May 9, 2006. Pictured with the proud students is Emperor teacher, Miss Mary Ann Parrille. Leena is 12 years old and is in Miss Parille’s class. She has 3 older brothers and sisters and enjoys soccer, math, and figuring out puzzles. Leena said, “the best things about school are the great teachers, the rules, and my friends.” If Leena could change one thing, it would be that her father was still alive. Leena has goals of building a place where people can come in and forget all their worries, to get straight A’s, get a good education, and a nice house. Annie is 11 years old and is in Ms. Carlson’s class. She enjoys reading, the computer, drawing, listening to music, singing, and playing the piano. Annie said, “the best things about school are it is clean and very well organized, the kids learn a lot of stuff and have many fun activities to do, the teachers and staff are really nice, wonderful, helpful and fun.” Personal goals Annie is striving for are to build a sanctuary for the homeless, getting good grades, go to a University, and to make more friends because you can never have enough. Laura is 12 years old and is in Mr. Giangregorio’s class. She enjoys playing on the computer, caring for her dog, reading, outdoor activities, and traveling. The best things about school are the caring teachers, fun activities, and P.E. Laura said, “the best thing that ever happened to me was winning a Young Author Award from Barnes & Noble and having my book in the library in the 2nd grade.” Laura has goals of being accepted into college, to get a good job, make many friends, and to stay healthy. |
