Kiwanis Honors Longden Students Kiwanis Club of Temple City was pleased to have honored three outstanding students from Longden Elementary School at their meeting on April 25, 2006. Pictured with the proud students is Longden Principal Mrs. Cheryl Busick. Haley is 12 years old and is in Mr. Shahoian’s class. She has an older brother and enjoys playing softball, soccer, the theatre, and gymnastics. Haley said, “The best things about school are my friends, the teachers, and Mrs. Busick.” The best thing that ever happened to Haley was when she won a bike in a drawing at Live Oak Park. Haley would like to build a cupcake shop so her mother has a shop to sell her homemade cupcakes, she would also like to be on the Honor Roll, become a teacher, and have a lead roll in a play. Anna is 12 years old and is in Mrs. Laughlin’s class. Anna has an older brother and enjoys babysitting and playing with little children. Anna said, “The best things about school are my wonderful Principal Mrs. Busick, hanging out with my friends, and helping teachers grade papers.” Anna said, “the best thing that ever happened to me was when I was little and I got to spend a lot of time with my family and especially my mom before she passed away.” Anna has goals of building a cancer support building to help people with the disease, becoming a wonderful teacher, growing up to be an awesome Christian, and be a wonderful person in life. Carrington is 11 years old and is in Mrs. Laughlin’s class. Carrington has an older sister and enjoys sports, friends, and shopping. Carrington said, “The best things about school are my teachers, friends, and sports activities.” The best thing that ever happened was going to Hawaii. Carrington has goals of ending pollution, building and amusement park, finishing college, playing sports as long as possible, and getting a good job. |
