Kiwanis Club of Temple City was pleased to have honored two outstanding students from the Community Learning Center April 17, 2007.  Pictured with the proud students is CLC teacher, Mr. Reggie Rios.

Jessica is 17 years old, has a younger sister and is in Mr. Rios and Mrs. Billings class.  Jessica enjoys playing with her dog, shopping, her boyfriend, and spending time with her cousin.  Jessica said, “The best things about school are working at my own pace without pressure of passing or failing, meeting new friends, and being able to balance school and work without stress. Jessica has goals of becoming more independent, go to college, have a successful future and career.

William is 16 years old, has 2 older sisters and is in Mr. Rios and Mrs. Billings class.  William enjoys baseball, basketball, video games, and skate boarding.  William said, “The best things about school are the teachers, good students, and staff and teachers who try to help us with our goals.”  The best thing that ever happened was making the TCHS baseball team in the 9^th grade.  Personal goals are to improve his attitude, build a hospital, graduate from TCHS, become a LA County Firefighter, and help people whenever he can.
