Kiwanis Honors Longden Students Kiwanis Club of Temple City was pleased to have honored three outstanding students from Longden Elementary School at their meeting on March 28, 2006. Pictured with the proud students is their teacher, Ms. Ellen Laughlin. David is 11 years old, has an older brother and sister, enjoys using the computer, watching TV, going to school, and sleeping. David said, “The best things about school are the big school, good food at lunch, and recess.” The best thing that ever happened to David was making the Honor Roll. He would like to change summer into winter, make fuel efficient cars, do better at school, get along better with people, and get more money. Alex is 11 years old, has a younger brother and enjoys his friends, his teacher, and reading books that are interesting in content. Alex said, “The best thing that ever happened to me was when I became a Christian, and if I could change one thing, it would be to end world poverty.” Alex has goals of building a church, going to college, and becoming a pharmacist. Nancy is 11 years old, has three older sisters and enjoys shopping, music, handball, reading, sleeping, and hanging out with her friends. Nancy said, “The best things about school are my great friends, the really nice teachers, and getting out early on Wednesdays.” The best thing that ever happened to Nancy was winning first place in the LA Odyssey Of The Mind with her team. Nancy has goals of ending world hunger, building a “ginormous” shopping mall, to get a lot of AR points next year, and save enough money for college. |
