Kiwanis Honors CLC Students Kiwanis Club of Temple City was pleased to have honored two outstanding students from the Community Learning Center at their meeting on March 21, 2006. Pictured with the proud students is principal, Dr. Doug Sears and school secretary Suzie Ten Napel. Both students are in Mr. Rod Kingry’s and Mr. Reggie Rios’ classes. Francisco is 16 years old and enjoys drawing, video games, and girls. Francisco said, “the best things about school are the teachers and staff, students, and the classroom structure.” Francisco has goals of changing the way people perceive each other, to build a machine to turn back time, to pass the high school exit exam, go to college, and become a game designer. Noemi is 17 years old and has a brother and sister. Noemi enjoys walking and art, because it takes away all the stress. Noemi said, “the best things about school are learning new things, the friendly people, and there is no pressure.” The best thing that ever happened to Noemi is having a niece that brings so much happiness to her life. Personal goals Noemi is striving for are to produce a cure for cancer and AIDS, to graduate from high school, get a good job, get a college degree, and become a massage therapist or a nurse. |
