Kiwanis Club of Temple City was pleased to have honored John Lau Chin and Kristie Sanchez from the Community Learning Center at their meeting on February 27, 2007.  Pictured with the proud students are their teachers, Lois Billings and Raul Acevedo.

John is 18 years old, has four brothers and sisters and enjoys hanging out with his friends. John said, “the best things about school are the teachers, my friends, and the way the school is run.” John also said, “the best thing that ever happened to me is having good friends and the teachers that helped me with my school work.” John’s goals are to graduate high school, become a business professional, and to drive.

Kristie is 17 years old, has four brothers and sisters and enjoys hanging out with her friends and having fun. Kristie enjoys her friends, teachers and staff, and the ability to accomplish her assignments with ease. Kristie said, “the best thing that ever happened to me was passing my high school exit exam.” If Kristie could change one thing, it would be to graduate from Temple City High School. Personal goals are to finish school, get a job, and to get her driving license.
