Kiwanis Honors Cloverly Students Kiwanis Club of Temple City was pleased to have honored Leslie Tuong, Catherine Tsai, and Haylie Roach from Cloverly Elementary School at their meeting on February 6, 2007. Pictured with the proud students is Cloverly teacher, Mrs. Pat Wenzel. Leslie is 11 years old and in Ms. Tenney’s class. Leslie enjoys playing with her younger sister, watching TV, playing piano, and drawing. Leslie said, “the best things about school are the great teachers, good rules, and lunches.” Leslie wishes everyone could go to Cloverly and has goals of building another school like Cloverly, and to do well in high school and college. Catherine is 11 years old and in Mrs. Stokes class. Catherine has an older brother and enjoys drawing, writing, studying animals, swimming, basketball, reading, and learning the Japanese language. The best things about school are the cafeteria cookies, the teachers, and library. Catherine said, “the best thing that ever happened to me was going to Taiwan to see my grandma.” Catherine’s goals are to stop animal abuse, become a traveling veterinarian, reduce pollution in water and air, and to save and replant the world’s rainforest. Haylie is 11 years old and in Mrs. Wenzel’s class. Catherine has two older brothers and enjoys her dog Kayla, playing softball and soccer. The best things about school are the nice teachers, her friends, and the fun activities. Haylie’s goals are to build an animal shelter for homeless and neglected animals, become a veterinarian, travel to different countries, and to get good grades. |
