Kiwanis Honors Longden Students Kiwanis Club of Temple City was pleased to have honored three outstanding students from Longden Elementary School at their meeting, January 24, 2006. Pictured with the proud students is their teacher, Mrs. Kristen Castro. Tyler is 11 years old and has a younger brother. Tyler enjoys snow skiing and fishing. Tyler said, “the best things about school are recess, science (he loves it), and the special extracurricular activities.” If Tyler could change one thing, it would be to still have dinosaurs on the earth. Three personal goals Tyler is striving for are to be an outstanding skier, go deep sea fishing in the Pacific ocean, and to go to USC or Cal. Lauren is 11 years old and has two younger brothers. Lauren enjoys basketball, cooking, reading mysteries and fantasy books. Lauren said, “the best things about school are the brilliant and supportive teachers, the fun, informative, helpful assemblies, and great fellow students.” The best thing that ever happened to Lauren was when she made her first friend in pre-school. If Lauren could build one thing, it would be a baby communication device that could make a connection with infants that have special needs. Personal goals are to maintain being on the honor roll, get involved in sports, and make positive friendships. Leticia is 11 years old and has five brothers and sisters. Leticia enjoys dancing and singing. Leticia said, “the best things about school are the good teachers, the nice and clean campus, and the fun events, like multi-cultural night.” The best thing that ever happened to Leticia was when she traveled to Thailand. Personal goals are to keep up her grades, be a teacher when she grows up, and become a good dancer. |
